1. Our "Local-First" Philosophy

Jade GT is built on a "local-first" architecture. Unlike traditional web applications, we do not upload, store, or transmit your photographic images or their metadata to our servers.

All photo processing happens entirely within your web browser's memory. This includes reading EXIF data, applying geocoding coordinates, and renaming files. Your original files stay on your device at all times.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account & Billing Information: If you subscribe to our "Pro" tier, we collect your email address and any billing details required by our payment processor.
  • Support & Feedback: When you use the "Support" modal or email us directly, we collect your email address and the content of your message to assist you.

B. Automated Technical Data

Like most web services, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may collect standard log information, including: * Internet Protocol (IP) address * Browser type and version * Time and date of access * Operating system

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to: * Manage your Pro subscription and process payments. * Respond to your support requests and bug reports. * Monitor the security and performance of our web application. * Comply with legal and tax obligations.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

To provide our services, we use the following trusted third-party providers:

  • Stripe: Processes all payments. Jade GT never sees or stores your full credit card or bank account information. Stripe's privacy policy can be found at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare: Provides our web hosting and security infrastructure.
  • Map Providers: When you use the search bar, your query is sent to MapTiler (primary) or OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) (fallback) to provide location results. This data is not linked to your personal identity. MapTiler's privacy policy can be found at maptiler.com/privacy. OpenStreetMap's privacy policy can be found at osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
  • PostHog: Provides product analytics so we can understand which features get used and where users encounter errors. PostHog captures interaction events (clicks, feature usage, error reports) tied to your subscription tier. PostHog does not receive your photos or their metadata. PostHog's privacy policy can be found at posthog.com/privacy.

5. Local Browser Storage

Jade GT uses browser-based storage technologies (LocalStorage and IndexedDB) to enhance your experience. This allows the app to: * Remember your location presets. * Save your current session progress so you don't lose work if you refresh the page. * Store your user preferences (e.g., Light/Dark mode).

This data stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing the site data for this domain in your browser's privacy settings (typically Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data, or the equivalent on your browser).

6. Data Retention

  • We retain billing records for as long as required by international tax laws (typically 7 years).
  • We retain support correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your request and improve our service.

7. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights: * Access: The right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. * Correction: The right to request that we correct inaccurate data. * Deletion: The right to request that we delete your account and associated email from our records.
